Porn and  gambling the main  targets of government's "clean up the Internet" campaign.

The Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Information has announced that during 2016 government's internet cleansing drive resulted in the ISP-blocking of almost 800,000 websites.

The director general of the Ministry, Samuel Abrijani Pangerapan, told local reporters that around 90 percent of the blocked sites were offering gambling or pornographic material, and among the rest were sites that spread false news and hoaxes.

The official reiterated earlier warnings that pornography and online gambling are both specifically prohibited under Indonesian laws, and that severe punishments, including long prison sentences, are provided for in the legalization.
