IP Converge Data Services Inc. expands into Europe with Alderney Gambling Control Commission deal.

IP Converge Data Services Inc., a subsidiary of Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co.’s information and communications technology arm ePLDT, is expanding into Europe via a partnership with Alderney Gambling Control Commission in the Channel Islands, the company has announced.

Under the partnership, IPC will serve as the Internet data centre provider for Alderney, president Rene Huergas said Friday.

“Alderney is one of the key entities in the global online gaming industry, and IPC’s hosting certificate provides leverage into other enterprises in the United Kingdom and Europe," Heurgas said. "That Team Alderney has chosen to work with us in their plans to reach out to the Asian market speaks well of the readiness of Philippine technology firms to do business with the world.”

To date, IPC is the only Asian data services company to achieve Alderney approval, which will enable Alderney to grow its business in the Asian region.

Maricar Nepomuceno, IPC vice president for managed data services sales for gaming noted that online gaming is a multi-billion dollar industry with very large technology requirements.

"Alderney handles gaming licenses from around the world and is one of the largest international hubs for online gaming," he said. "Mission critical requirements of this scale need to be fulfilled with managed data services that meet global standards and [are] able to grow with a client’s business. Our services will strategically help Alderney expand their business in Asia.”

Susan O’ Leary, director of e-commerce at Alderney Gambling said the arrangement with IPC will provide advantages to the regulator’s other partners.
