First sportsbetting app to be released on iPhone in U.S.
American Wagering, Inc. (AWI), the parent company of Nevada's independent sportsbook operator Leroy's Sportsbook (Leroy's) and Computerized Bookmaking Systems, Inc. (CBS) race and sports technology provider, has received field trial approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board to offer its mobile account wagering application, LEROY'S® APP, on the iPhone.
The app is reportedly the first mobile sports betting app to be released on iPhone in the United States and joins the company's application inventory that includes Android®, and BlackBerry®.
LEROY'S® APP will work on the new Apple iOS5 update as well as the 3GS, iPhone 4, and 4s models.
"We are grateful the Gaming Control Board, the Commission, and their respective staff have embraced the vision of the future with mobile wagering and our account based systems. Their work to review and approve our technical advancements serves only to improve the industry as a whole and to better serve the customer. The addition of the iPhone is a huge leap forward," stated John English, Senior Vice President of American Wagering, Inc.
"Leroy's is everywhere, for everyone, at anytime, and we've been here for 33 years. I have been doing this a long time. You see over time what works and what doesn't. I can tell you that mobile wagering is where we are heading and I believe the rest of the gaming industry will follow, in the meantime we will continue to lead," added Vic Salerno, President of Leroy's.
The company's future releases include submission for approval of Leroy's® App for the iPad and the build out of the application for additional smartphone devices.
