Alessandro de Fenza Wins Italian Poker Tour San Remo

Tuesday April 15,2014 : ITALIAN POKER TOUR WIN FOR ALESSANDRO DE FENZA

San Remo outing earns Italian pro Euro 105,600.

The Euro 700 buy-in Italian Poker Tour San Remo main event has been decided, with Alessandro de Fenza fighting off tough competition from 1,123 other hopefuls to claim the honours and Euro 105,600 after a 3-way chop late in the game.

The tournament – with a prize pool of Euro 763,196 – attracted players from 49 countries, over half of them from Italy.

Final table action Monday saw De Fenza facing Italian players Marcello Miniucchi, Alex Longobardi, Alessandro Borsa and Fabio Scepi; Jae Kyung Sim from South Korea; Alex Norden of Sweden and Adel Kabbani from France.

When play reached the three-handed point, De Fenza, Miniucchi and Sim went into a huddle to discuss a three-way deal, which was achieved before play continued.

Sim was then bundled out of contention for a third place pay-out of Euro 75,000 by Miniucchi at level 35, setting up the final confrontation between the two remaining Italian players.

The heads up was a brief affair as a confident De Fenza convincingly outplayed runner up Miniucchi, who left with a second placing pay check for Euro 95,600.
