IRISH POKER FESTIVAL TO RUN AGAIN IN SEPTEMBER

Posted 3/15/11 : Euro 550 buy-ins for main event should deliver a respectable prize pool

Ladbrokes Poker.com has announced the return of the Irish Poker Festival for a fourth year at the Irish National Events Centre (INEC) in Killarney, Ireland.

The 2010 edition of the tournament saw 633 runners in the main event alone, and four days have been set aside for 2011, which promises to be bigger and better, with a Euro 550 buy-in main event offering a guaranteed prize pool of Euro 250,000.

The tournament will kick off on 29th September and run through to 2nd October.

Last year there was an interesting mix of regular online players, local Irish folk and a big representation from the Nordic countries. The winner of the main event, Lars Törngren from Sweden, cashed in Euro 75,000 from a final prize pool of over Euro 300,000.

Qualification rounds for the festival are now running on Ladbrokes Poker.com, with 2011 packages – each worth Euro 1,000 – or for a Main Event seat valued at Euro 500.
