James Dempsey Wins inaugural iSeriesLIVE tournament

04/07/2012 : UK PLAYER WINS INAUGURAL iSeriesLIVE POKER TOURNEY

A Euro 100,000 take-home for Dempsey in winner-takes-all competition

Brit poker ace James "Flushy" Dempsey has taken down the winner-takes-all, $10,000 buy-in inaugural iSeriesLIVE tournament in Dublin, beating out an illustrious band of 9 other top international players that included Maria Ho, Faraz Jaka, Devilfish Ulliott, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, and Carlos Mortenson.

The brainchild of Poker Royalty chief Brian Balsbaugh, the event was the first of its kind to feature live stream and commentary, along with the opportunity to place live bets on players, the action and propositions via the Paddy Power website and mobile facility.

It was well supported with plenty of online action as live tournament excitement intersected with internet enthusiasm and wagering interest, officials reported.

The first casualty of the event was surprisingly Phil Hellmuth, who was unable to match his customary high profile bluster with a winning mix of cards, skill and good fortune, and was busted out by Daniel Negreanu.

At the death it was Dempsey against Dave Ulliott after Maria Ho was eliminated in third.
