Jason Comtois Wins WPT National Canadian Spring Championship

Local player prevails over field of 1017, keeps title at home
 
Quebec local Jason Comtois has taken the PartyPoker.net WPT National Canadian Spring Championship title at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal.
 
Comtois packed the WPT crystal trophy, the Playground Poker Champion's belt and a cool CAN$160 999, while an enthusiastic rail cheered him on.
 
“I’m happy to keep the WPT title in Quebec,” said 27-year-old Comtois.  “It was great to have such great support – I really think my friends carried me through at times.”
 
Comtois, who has only been playing poker for two years, bested well-known names that included Kara Scott, Gavin Smith and Antonio Esfandiari.
