New York Court Issues subpoen For Poker Pro Jason Newitt

New York court wants to hear from Jason ‘JDN' Newitt.
 
Unconfirmed reports in the US online poker media suggest that the US District Court for the southern district of New York – where justice officials have become well known for anti-online gambling actions – has issued a subpoena for poker pro Jason ‘JDN' Newitt to appear today (September 14.)
 
Newitt and Full Tilt Poker have an interesting and not altogether amicable history. A year ago Newitt, who had at one time been an employee of the company but was dismissed following embarrassing email incident, launched litigation in the Nevada courts for unfair dismissal and wrongful termination of employment.
 
In his suit, Newitt named Full Tilt Poker, Tiltware, Pocket Kings Consulting, and both Howard Lederer and Raymond Bitar. 
 
According to the case filing the poker pro claimed that he was "…unfairly fired and that his distribution payments were unfairly ceased.  Defendants then took control of his ownership [presumably of a claimed share in the company?].”
 
Newitt appointed the same legal firm as that used by poker pro Clonie Gowen in her unsuccessful litigation against Full Tilt Poker , the interesting aspect being the similarities in the cases.
 
Although a U.S. District Court dismissed most of Gowen’s lawsuit it did so ‘without prejudice' in the case of defendants Bitar, Lederer, and Tiltware LLC, meaning that Gowen could re-file against them in the future.
