Konstantinos Nanos Wins WPT Vienna

Wednesday March 18,2015 :  GREEK PLAYER WINS WORLD POKER TOUR VIENNA TOURNEY

Nanos turns the tables on Krastev.

There was a point in the World Poker Tour Vienna main event this week at which a win for Vladimir Krastev looked to be almost certain; he had demolished every opponent at the final table and looked unstoppable….but then he came up against Greek pro Konstantinos Nanos.

The duo had survived a 50-hand final table that included talented players like Thomas Bichon, Andreas Freund, Gaelle Baumann and Sotirios Koutoupas, all of whom were despatched by Krastev, taking him into the heads up against Nanos.

And that's where it all changed; Nanos apparently couldn't go wrong and won most of the hands to dominate the heads up and bring it to a conclusion over the following 30 hands, claiming the main prize of Euro 150,000 and a WPT World Championship seat worth €15,400.

Twenty seven players cashed from the Euro 660,000 prize pool generated by 220 entries, with the rest of the final table taking home generous rewards for their five days of work:

2nd: Vladimir Krastev Euro 103,000
3rd: Thomas Bichon   Euro 65,000
4th:  Andreas Freund  Euro 49,000
5th: Gaelle Baumann  Euro 35,500
6th  Sotirios Koutoupas Euro 29,500
