Earlier this year the US headlines were filled with an internet cafe gambling fraud case that started in Florida but swept across several other states as federal enforcement officials arrested 57 persons on felony charges connected with the so-called Allied Veterans of the World charity
 
Among them was the owner of Oklahoma-based International Internet Technologies, Chase Burns (37) and his wife Kristin, who had $8 million seized by the Oklahoma authorities as part of the enforcement activity.
 
The couple sought the return of the money, but on Friday this was denied by a local judge.
 
Investigations continue in a case that has seen the resignation of one senior Florida politician due to involvement in the scandal, which reportedly resulted in only a miniscule 2 percent of the $300 million proceeds go to the veterans' charity.
