Locaid to enable mobile and online gaming for GTech

Wednesday January 30,2013 : GEO-LOCATION SPECIALISTS CLINCH DEAL WITH GTECH

Locaid selected to enable mobile and online gaming for GTech

Locaid, the San Francisco-based Location-as-a-Service company, is to provide lottery and gaming solutions provider GTech with secure mobile location, IP location and other location-based services including geo-fencing and location authentication to support its smartphone-based lottery systems and applications.

The agreement follows Locaid's recent deal with Nevada-licensed CAMS (Central Account Management System), which introduced the Locaid service to Fertitta Interactive's Ultimate Gaming and Ultimate Poker business .

The integration of Locaid location positions GTech high in lottery technology innovation in the United States, and includes a geo-compliance engine that will ensure any lottery purchase on a mobile or internet-connected device is within state borders, but outside of designated exclusion zones such as tribal lands.

"Locaid is the only location platform that could meet GTech's demanding requirements for both secure mobile and IP location," said Locaid president and CEO, Rip Gerber Tuesday.

"GTech is a platform leader in an industry that is rapidly embracing the BYOD – Bring-Your-Own-Device – phenomenon," said Matthew Whalen, senior vice president and CTO at GTech.

"We selected Locaid because we need to reach all our customers, regardless of what kind of device they carry.  With Locaid, GTech can now deliver the reach and uptime that meets the extremely rigorous requirements of our partners, including state lottery administrators and gaming regulators."
