Lord Faulkner New ChairMan Of AGCC

The Alderney Government has appointed Lord Faulkner of Worcester as the new Chairman of the Alderney Gambling Control Commission and Christopher Moger QC as a new member.
 
The Commission comprises three members who are appointed for a term of five years.
 
Lord Faulkner, a current member, of the commission will succeed John Godfrey who retires in May 2014 while Christopher Moger QC will replace Lord Faulkner as a member of the Commission.
 
Falkner is the Deputy Speaker in the House of Lords, a former Government Minister and was a former member of the joint parliamentary scrutiny commission on the draft gambling bill which led to the 2005 Gambling Act.
 
He is also the former Chairman of the all-party inquiry into betting on sports, a member of the betting and gaming group, a former trustee of Gamcare and a former member of the FIFA Task Force amongst other roles.
 
Christopher Moger QC is a Barrister practicing in commercial litigation and arbitration, a former advisor to the Gaming Board for Great Britain (subsequently the Gambling Commission) and the industry in terms of casino licencing and gaming law.  He has also been a Deputy Judge of the High Court since 1999.
 
Outgoing Chairman John Godfrey spent 14 years in the role as the first Chairman of the Commission.
