Republican lawmaker introduces new bill.
 
Louisiana could soon join the majority of US states that permit fantasy sports betting following the introduction of a new legalising bill by Republican state Representative Joseph Lopinto from New Orleans.
 
Lopinto's bill simply provides clarity on the state's position on fantasy sports, noting that it does not constitute gambling in terms of state law.
