China's island land gambling mecca continues to prosper

The MacauBusiness.com website reported this week that land casinos on the gambling island of Macau off the Chinese coast delivered gross gaming revenues in 2010 that have already overtaken the total for 2009.

Local casino operators earned approximately MOP6 billion (US$750 million) in the first 12 days of September, a source from the industry confirmed to the Macau Daily Times.

Adding it to the MOP117.9 billion registered from January to August 2010, local casinos have delivered gross gaming revenues that have already overtaken the total for the full year 2009, when MOP119.4 billion was recorded.
