Macau Gambling Revenue up 21.3 percent year on year

Gambling revenue in Macau leapt 21.3 percent year on year reaching 30.18 billion patacas, its fourth highest this year.
 
The former Portuguese enclave was positively affected by the Manny Pacquiao boxing fight hosted at the Venetian Macao and the Macau Grand Prix, an annual street circuit race held over two weekends.
 
Analysts predict restricted growth in the short term due to a shortage of hotel rooms but expect another surge as new hotels are built and, more precisely, as the bridge joining Macau and the Hong Kong city of Zhuhai opens in 2016.
