macau Growth Slower Then Expected

Monday July 2, 2012 : MACAU GROWTH SLOWER THAN EXPECTED

Latest figures bear out Analysts predictions

Although Macau's revenue growth figures report a rise over the previous month of May, they were slower than the 15 percent expected increase.

Analyst's remain bullish on the Macau gambling market for the medium term said Reuters, despite the enclave's meteoric gambling revenue growth slowing over the past few months.

According to Macau's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, June gambling revenue over the month of June recorded 23.3 billion patacas (approx. $2.9 billion), up 12.2 percent from a year earlier.

The slow-down is attributed to tight economic times in China, curbing mainland high roller visitor's spending.
