Pokerstars Cancels Major Asian Poker Tournament

Thursday June 7, 2012 : POKERSTARS CANCELS MAJOR ASIAN TOURNAMENT

"Events beyond our control," the only reason given

The August element of the Pokerstars Macau Poker Cup: Red Dragon series has been unexpectedly cancelled by organisers Pokerstars, although the June element scheduled for this weekend will be held.

Apologising for the cancellation, Pokerstars director of live poker tournaments, Danny McDonagh, could only say that the decision had been prompted by “events beyond our reasonable control.”

"We cannot yet confirm the scheduling of PokerStars Macau special events for the rest of 2012, but hope to do so as soon as possible," McDonagh said in a statement.

"I assure all our loyal players and partners that PokerStars Macau is still deeply committed to creating the best poker experience in the world and my team is focused on showing that commitment this upcoming week at the Macau Poker Cup.
