Thursday April 17,2014 :  MACAU FIRST QUARTER REVENUES UP 20 PERCENT

Revenues for the first three months of 2014 reach MOP 102.5b (US $12.8 billion)

Audited numbers from the Macau regulator show that in the first three months of 2014 the offshore gambling enclave generated revenues of MOP 102.5b (US $12.8 billion) – up 20 percent in comparison to the same period in 2013.

Figures released by Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau show baccarat was the big money earner for operators, contributing an impressive 91.5 percent of total revenues – a 12.5 percent bigger contribution than last year.

Slots players accounted for slightly less than 4 percent of total revenues at MOP 3.9 billion – a 9 percent greater contribution than last year.

Another stand-out genre was dice gaming, where Cussec (Sic Bo) generated MOP 2 billion…more than blackjack, roulette and even sports lottery betting.
