Wcoop Main Event Winner Bought In With Points

WCOOP main event winner enjoyed a superb ROI

The Pokerstars blog lauded Russian player Marat “Maratik” Sharafutdinov this week, noting that the previously unknown grinder had achieved a remarkable return on investment in winning the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) main event.

You can see why; the Russian used forty loyalty points to enter, and then leveraged that into a pay day that exceeds a million dollars, besting a star-studded field of 1,824 highly competitive online players in doing so.

According to the blog, this was a notable win, but not the first time that Maratik has turned loyalty points into seats at major online tournament events and the opportunity to score. He told the blog that points and a bit of luck can carry a player a long way in internet poker

“I won a couple of seats in the $215 Sunday Million and in one of the nightly $150 tourneys," he explained.
