Pokerstars' parent Rational Group appoints former Playtech exec
 
The Isle of Man-based Rational Group, parent to online poker giant Pokerstars, has appointed a former Playtech exec to the position of chief operating officer, reporting directly to chief exec Mark Scheinburg on all issues concerning customer-facing product and back-office functions for Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker.
 
Rafi Ashkenazi was until November last year COO and VP of business development at the Playtech online gambling software group, which operates the iPoker Network. He worked for the group for seven years before resigning, and was previously with the SQLink company.
 
Ashkenazi takes up his new responsibilities on the Isle of Man on February 1, according to a press release issued by Rational Thursday.
 
His duties will embrace marketing, customer support, poker room management, IT management, payment processing & security, and game integrity.
