Online poker network will no longer accept new player registrations from state that has banned online poker

A source at the US-facing and fast growing Merge online poker network has told the Pokeraddict.com information site that it will no longer accept new player registrations from the staunchly anti-gambling state of Utah.

Earlier this year Utah lawmakers adopted a bill forbidding any intrastate legalization of online poker, and Gov. Gary Herbert this week lobbied senior Congressional leaders not to pass federal legalization bills .

Pokeraddict points out that Merge has already stopped accepting new players from Washington D.C. as well as the states of Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York, and Washington.
