Microgaming Wins Digital Product of the Year

Prolific software provider Microgaming has won Digital Product of the Year for the second year running on its Jurassic Park online slot at the 2015 Global Gaming Awards in Las Vegas.

The slot is the first product of its kind to use Parallax Scrolling effects, the game features all of the most memorable dinosaurs, such as the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Velociraptor and Triceratops. With 3D-rendered imagery, the iconic brand is brought to life with dinosaur-themed features activating free spins and a unique set of bonus features.

In addition, Microgaming scooped the Digital Gaming Innovation award for its forward thinking work in Virtual Reality and Wearable Technology.

VR Roulette, an excitingly real yet surreal take of a seat at the roulette table, uses Oculus Rift wearable technology to transport the player to a casino in cyberspace.

Examining analogue interactions across real and virtual environments, Microgaming developed VR Roulette to study the immersive potential of 3D technology in the gaming industry ending up with an impressive game in its own right.  The companybuilt on the findings to create Augmented and Virtual Reality Apps for a range of devices.
 
The Global Gaming Awards celebrate the year’s triumphs in digital and land-based gaming, with 12 awards to recognise industry achievements.

A panel of 50 expert judges cast their vote to decide the worthy winners with the process officiated by KPMG Gibraltar.
