Microgaming and 888.com set to commence French operations

The 888.com-Microgaming partnership formed earlier this year to enter the French online poker market  is the latest to be granted a licence by French regulator ARJEL.

The French online publication igamingfrance reports that the Microgaming-888.com dedicated French poker network's first operator, La Société Française des Jeux sur Internet (SFJI) has also achieved licensed status.  The French operator is a venture launched in May 2010 in which some forty independent land casinos in France have combined to enter the online sector, using the expertise and technology of Microgaming and 888.com.

The company's site will likely be branded 200pourcentpoker.

SFJI has an additional connection with Microgaming through Spiral Solutions France, a joint b2b venture in which Microgaming associate Spiral Solutions joined with the casino equipment provider Santa Maria Group to develop business in the liberalised French market.

Several major and well established online gambling industry firms have now secured French licensing, among them Party Gaming, Bwin, Pokerstars, Everest and Betclic, Chiligaming and Winamax.
