Day 1B €150,000 Guarantee Met at MPN Poker Tour Sunny Beach. The MPN Poker Tour Sunny Beach Main Event continued yesterday at the Platinum Casino in Bulgaria, with Day 1b attracting over 200 entries. Together with the 110 entries from Day 1a, the total field was at well over 300 at the time of writing – the guarantee has thus already been met, although registration remains open until the start of Day 2 at 2pm local time. At that time, the Day 1a and 1b survivors will coalesce into a single field, along with any brave last-minute registrants who fancy a punt at the €150,000+ prize pool.
Top of the chip counts at the end of Day 1b was RedKings qualifier Joseph Ananias from the UK, whose 200,300 is still some way behind Paf qualifier and Day 1a chip leader Mikael Grönvik’s 217,200 – Grönvik is therefore our overall chip leader going into Day 2. Seventy-eight poker players in all survived Day 1b; together with the 41 survivors from Day 1a, we are looking at a Day 2 field of approximately 120 players, depending on how many super-late registrations we get before play kicks off at 2pm.
Away from the Main Event, yesterday also saw the €100 + €100 + €20 MPNPT Super Knockout side event play late into the night. In addition, the live MPNPT Fish Party Sit & Go Jackpot proved as popular as ever, with players eager to engage with the MPNPT on social media in exchange for a chance to play for prizes including MPNPT branded goodies and the possibility of an MPNPT Main Event seat or full package. The equally fun online version of the Fish Party game is available to play on MPN poker rooms.
MPNPT Sunny Beach continues today with the €135 + €15 MPNPT Platinum Poker Cup side event at 6pm – perfect consolation for any players who bust out of the Main Event in the first few levels of Day 2 – as well as bustling cash games and all the sun, sea and holiday atmosphere players could wish for. You can follow all the action as it happens over on the MPNPT blog.
