Neteller and Skrill Drop 100 Countries

NETELLER AND SKRILL CURTAIL SERVICES IN 100 COUNTRIES

From this month, online gamblers in many countries will not be able to use online payment firms card facility.

Online payment solutions provider Paysafe plc threw the cat among the pigeons this week by advising that its Neteller and Skrill prepaid card payment facilities are being withdrawn in around 100 countries.

“We regret to inform you that as of November 25, 2016, we will no longer offer the Skrill Prepaid MasterCard in your country,” customers were informed via email.

The advisory goes on to assure clients that their accounts remain open, enabling them to withdraw their balances, or "send money to any other Skrill user or online business accepting Skrill.”

European nations in the EU and European Economic Area (EEA) will not be affected by the change, including countries such as Norway, Switzerland, France, Austria, Italy, and the United Kingdom.

Media reports following up on the advisory claim that the exit impacts every country outside the European Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) zone, which covers 34 nations including every member state in the EU, plus Iceland, Norway, Switzerland and others. However, it is thought unlikely that the United States will be included in the withdrawal.

It appears that markets like Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Brazil and Colombia are all to be abandoned, although a definitive list is still awaited.
