Nevada Gambling revenues up 7 percent

Gambling revenues up 7 percent year-on-year in March
 
Three-quarters of the way through its fiscal year, Nevada gaming authorities report that gambling revenue at land casinos in the state is running nearly 3 percent ahead of last year, and in March revenues showed a 7 percent gain on the same month last year.
 
The Nevada Gaming Control Board said Friday that casinos state-wide won more than $914 million in March, a 7 percent quarterly gain that pushed the fiscal year-to-date total to nearly $8.4 billion, 2.8 percent more than last year.
 
The Las Vegas Strip posted a 13.1 percent monthly gain over March 2012 and is now 5.7 percent ahead. Washoe County was up 9.5 percent for March, including a 10.8 percent gain in Reno.
 
North Lake Tahoe was up 15.4 percent, South Tahoe down 11 percent, Carson Valley down 2 percent, Wendover up 7.6 percent and the rest of Elko County up 8.9 percent.
