NEVADA ONLINE POKER THIS SPRING?

Sunday October 14,2012 :  NEVADA ONLINE POKER THIS SPRING?

Online gambling software provider has high hopes

The Nevada television station KTVN interviewed James Costa, CEO of online gambling software and video game developer 3G Friday, who said that legalised online poker could be a fact of life in Nevada as soon as this spring.

3G already has a commercial tie-up with the Eldorado Casino and has applied for a Nevada online poker licence.

Kosta appears to have wider ambitions than poker, however, and said: "What we are looking forward to is two, three, or four years from now at a federal level, you'll be able to start gambling on casual games and arcade games with your friends."

Kosta said online gaming is the next big wave for the gaming industry, although there are still political and legislative hurdles to be cleared.

He pointed to a debate this week between local Congressional candidates Shelley Berkley and Dean Heller, in which the latter claimed that Congress will pass a law legalising online poker by the end of this year.
