86 percent of respondents in a Golden Nugget Casino study say they would play online
 
The Fertitta brothers are internationally known for their involvement in the US land casino business, the Ultimate Fighting Championship brand and, more recently, their prescient move into the online poker space with Fertitta Interactive.
 
Their commitment to the genre is clear, with an application pending for a Nevada online poker operator licence, and the launch earlier this year of Fertitta Interactive's fremium social gaming product Ultimate Poker on Facebook, widely seen as preparing the ground for the advent of legalised online poker in Nevada and perhaps wider.
 
In another step toward that goal, the company launched a free-to-play online poker website leveraging the famous Golden Nugget casino brand owned by the Fertitta brothers, using a platform from Bally, which this year acquired the highly experienced Chili Gaming firm.
 
Golden Nugget Poke offers the group's estimated 60 million-a-year visitors 24/7 fremium action supported by a range of tournaments, promos and prizes, and has massive marketing potential.
 
The company recently completed a survey of its player base, asking how members felt about playing poker online should the pastime be legalised in the United States.
 
Regrettably the report from Golden Nugget did not include numbers of those approached, and a more detailed drilling-down on a wider range of pertinent questions could have generated more useful information,
 
That said, the overwhelming response – 86 percent in favour – indicates just how popular such a site could be in real money poker and player liquidity terms.
