Monday conference will address ‘modernising lottery and gaming in Ontario’
Provincial lottery and government officials, including Finance Minister Dwight Duncan and Ontario Lottery and Gaming chairman Paul Godfrey have called a media conference for later today (Monday) to discuss "modernizing lottery and gaming in Ontario."
Ontario has been flirting with the idea of making changes to its current gambling laws in a bid to exact more profit from the multimillion-dollar online gambling industry, following the example of British Columbia and Quebec.
OLG has said online gambling is worth about Cdn$500 million in Ontario, which currently goes to offshore betting sites.
