Party Poker WSOP Qualifiers

Party Poker sends truckloads of their players to the World Series of Poker every year. This year, Party Poker is planning on sending even more of their players to compete for a WSOP bracelet–between February and June alone they're giving away fifty seats to the WSOP through qualifying tournaments, some of which are exclusive for first-time depositors. In other words, Party Poker is willing and able to hand out some of their fancy $14,000 WSOP packages to people who have just started their Party Poker career.

These special WSOP packages include the $10,000 WSOP main event buy-in, $2,000 spending money, and eight nights hotel accommodations on the Las Vegas Strip, not to mention access to assistance from PartyPoker throughout their stay. The total value of these packages, $14,000, makes the sheer number of them given away something to write home about. Party Poker's “VIP hospitality” treatment is well-known among poker players, and its part of the WSOP prize package that Party Poker is giving away like there's no tomorrow. It seems that every year a handful of Party Poker players make it through the end of day three, meaning they earn a guaranteed minimum of around $20,000.

Unfortunately for Party Poker, none of the players they send to the event have ever won the bracelet. Hopefully for Party Poker, the sheer number of players they qualify for the WSOP will eventually mean a high profile victory, something like what PokerStars has had in recent years. Right now, Party Poker is looking for a big star along the lines of PokerStar's Chris Moneymaker.

Party Poker is one of the first places that starts handing out entries to the WSOP, with some $14,000 packages going out as early as the February before the tournament. That draws in a large number of people looking to earn their shot at the WSOP final table.

Why Does PartyPoker Offer So Many WSOP Seats?

Party Poker was unaffected by what American poker players are calling “Black Friday”–a decision by the US government to shut down four huge American poker sites. Unfortunately, European based sited like PartyPoker haven't seen a huge influx of business from American sites that have been shut down, so it makes sense that PartyPoker would start to offer incentives to draw in the crowds.

That might be why PartyPoker decided recently to start giving away these $14,000 WSOP packages on a daily basis. Every day during this special promotion, PartyPoker is handing out one trip to Vegas for the WSOP, on top of the weekly qualifiers and WSOP prizes they're already handing out.

This year's WSOP will run in the month of July, with the “final table” competition being played next November for television and marketing purposes. Through the month of June, more and more PartyPoker players will line up for their chance to take home the bracelet.

Party Poker has always used their member's participation in WSOP events for promotional purposes. In 2010, Party Poker gave away four prize packages called “WSOP For Life” which paid the winner's entry into the WSOP every year for the next twenty years. Valued at $200,000 per winner, the total giveaway was nearly $1 million in WSOP entry fees alone. Over 100,000 players competed for just four prizes, and those four winners have their buy-in at the WSOP set for the next two decades.

How to Win a Seat at the WSOP At PartyPoker

There's lots of ways to win a spot at the WSOP Main Event through Party Poker. The most popular are the daily freerolls running every spring–right now at Party Poker, these qualifying freeroll tournaments take place multiple times every day. The top 25 players at these tournaments win entry to the next $2 WSOP Sub-Qualifier Speed Rebuy tournament.

The next level of tournaments awarding entry are called “Sub Qualifiers,” two of which feature re-buys. Generally speaking, for every $80 added to the prize pool, another entry to the next WSOP Satellite Qualifier is given out. That means about 1 in 10 players in these tournament qualifies for a chance at a WSOP seat.
