Partypoker releases first phase of mobile product overhaul to deliver best-in-class mobile poker experience. New SPINS product features portrait mode game play, ‘Diamond’ social currency, ‘Rabbit’ feature and more.
Partypoker is proud to announce a ground-breaking new mobile experience for its mobile poker application, which is set to revolutionize the way players play poker on the go. Check it out here.
The first phase of the poker mobile product overhaul sees a brand-new SPINS interface that comes with a raft of innovative new features, led by a new portrait layout that supports one-handed game play and improved table tiling, plus a new social-friendly currency, ‘Diamonds’, that offers a more immersive playing experience.
Diamonds are earned based on number of hands played and spent on in-game benefits like viewing ‘Rabbit’ cards or throwing a variety of animations at opponents. Throwing items will cost players one Diamond, and this feature also comes with animated sounds to augment the experience.
‘Rabbit’ is another exciting innovation that is set to further intensify action between opponents, and lets players see the remaining cards that were not dealt into hands. Other gamified features designed to provide a new social element include:
More PartyPoker Features
- Bubble chat
- Emojis’ All-in animations
- Enhanced dialogues such as announcing tournament winners, aimed at generating greater excitement among players
Alongside these developments, the site is excited to bring its new hand re-player to its mobile product for the first time, while the ability to tile up to four tables is set to optimism the playing experience for all players on mobile.
To help players search SPINS tournaments with greater ease, the upgrade also brings a redesigned SPINS lobby where players can effortlessly switch between a carousel or tiled view, with the use of search filters helping to narrow search results. In addition, players will also be able to select up to four games at once (of the same buy-in) and register immediately for those tournaments, within the new lobbies.
Separately, the overhaul will provide SPINS games with a redesigned multiplier animation to improve player engagement, among the various player benefits available.
Partypoker’s mobile product overhaul will serve as a major company focus over the coming months, and the operator will be soliciting feedback from the poker community as it looks to optimize and further improve the product. The product has already been tested by a select group of players in beta mode, including various members of Team partypoker.
Partypoker Team Online’s Jaime Staples said: “This app brings poker on your phone into the modern age. The experience of just being able to play with one finger is something I have never had the chance to experience before. It's so simple and intuitive! It's by far the best poker app I have played on my phone. So simple to use and fun!”
Jeff Gross, also of Team Online, said: “This app changes the poker experience for the user in a big way. Mobile poker tech has been archaic, and this makes you really say WOW when you play it. Refreshing and fun, the biggest shake-up in poker I have seen in a long time!”
Team Partypoker’s João Simão added: “I had the pleasure to be part of the test team of the new mobile app and gave my feedback to try to improve the beta version. It was a great surprise when I got to test, and I’m sure that you will all love it. I saw the team working hard to create an app that gives the best experience for our customers, and I’m confident that it will be the result. I hope you guys enjoy.”
Head of Product at partypoker, Ross McQuater, said: “The new SPINS product shows our commitment to improving the mobile experience for our customers.
“The new lobby and portrait table for SPINS with new and exciting features, such as the ability to throw things at opponents and view rabbit cards, aims to provide our customers with a more fun and engaging playing experience.
“This is just one of many updates that will be delivered in the coming months as we overhaul our mobile proposition.”
