PartyPoker pledges another $68,200 to Hurricane Dorian charity
Partypoker Live and Baha Mar Casino pledge another $68,200 to Hurricane Dorian charity, taking total raised to over $250,000. Recent charity tournament in support of victims also saw eight prize packages awarded to 2019 Caribbean Poker Party.
Partypoker LIVE and the Baha Mar Casino teamed up on Sunday, October 13, 2019 to support victims of the recent Hurricane Dorian with a special charity tournament held online on partypoker. Check it out here.
Both parties had agreed to donate each $100 buy-in collected from the event to Hurricane Dorian relief efforts. Allowing for rebuys, a total of 416 entrants helped to generate $68,200 worth of buy-ins, which will now go direct to charity in support of those impacted by the disaster. On top of the donation, the top eight finishers in the tournament also earned themselves packages to the 2019 Caribbean Poker Party as added prizes.
The $68,200 collected has been added to existing donations from players, partners and friends of partypoker, bringing the total raised so far to over $250,000. Anyone wishing to make further contributions to Hurricane Dorian relief efforts can do so via the partypoker LIVE JustGiving page here. In addition, Dusk Till Dawn owner, Rob Yong, has agreed to match any money collected via the partypoker “Hurricane Dorian Charity Donation Holding Tanks” within the client, and added to the overall fund.
The stunning Baha Mar resort, which hosts the annual partypoker LIVE-sponsored Caribbean Poker Party, lies northwest of Grand Bahama and The Abacos islands that were ravaged by the storm, and the venue will once again be opening its doors to hundreds of poker hopefuls for another festival of sun, sea and poker this November.
Taking place from November 15-24, highlights of the $15,000,000 guaranteed festival include the $10,300 Millions World Main Event, $1,100 Mini Main Event and $250,000 Super High Roller Bowl, set to make its Bahamian debut in 2019.
Team partypoker’s Roberto Romanello is among the 220+ players already qualified for the Main Event having secured his seat last weekend and joins fellow teammates Ike Haxton and Jason Koon on the list of confirmed names for this year’s festival. As an added incentive to take part, partypoker LIVE has lined up several promotions in the run up to and during event.
The live tour is offering two free nights at the Baha Mar hotel for any player that buys into the Millions World Main Event and books seven nights at the resort before October 31st.
Separately, cash game players will be rewarded with one free ticket into a daily prize draw for every hour registered at the cash game tables during the event. Each daily draw will award one $1,050 Millions Online satellite ticket, while one winner will also be chosen at random at the conclusion of the event to receive a Millions Online seat worth $10,300.
