$125,000 WPT special event will feature 12 all-star poker names
 
Party Poker has announced the dates and the first two sign-ups for its prestigious Premier League VII $125,000 WPT special event, which will feature 12 all-star poker names, competing at the Playground Poker Club in Montreal from the 20th – 26th November 2013.
 
The special event takes place ahead of the $3,500 + $350 partypoker.net WPT Montreal tournament taking place between 29th November – 5th December 2013.
 
Following feedback from players the structure has been improved and will feature 12 players playing six eight-handed heats, with each player participating in four league matches showcasing the point system ($2,000 per point).
 
The top four will automatically go through to the final table, while the next four places (5th – 8th) will square off in a series of heads-up matches (best of three) for spots in the six-handed finale with the winner taking home $350,000.
 
The calibre of poker talent on display in these top events is illustrated by last year's turnout, which included: Jason Mercier, Tobias Reinkemeier, Sam Trickett, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, Jennifer Tilly, Tony G, Scott Seiver, Daniel ‘Jungleman’ Cates, Igor Kurganov, Marvin Rettenmaier, eventual winner Dan Shak, Talal Shakerchi and Jonathan Duhamel.
