PartyPoker Raises £46,500 at DevilFish Cup

Dave “Devilfish” Ulliott, a legend in the poker world, passed away in April 2015 after a battle with cancer, leaving behind his wife Anpaktita, and his eight children Kerry, Lucy, Paul, David, Chris, Steven, Mike, and Matthew.

204 fans and friends of Devilfish had chance to honor him by playing in a high stakes poker tournament at Dusk Till Dawn in October 2016. The Devilfish Cup featured an entry of £5,000 plus a £300 donation. The donations, plus three percent of the £1,000,000 guaranteed prize pool was collected and split between Marie Curie, and a trust fund for Devilfish’s children.

Anpaktita Ulliott, Devilfish’s wife, handed over the trophy to the eventual winner, professional poker player Lucas Blanco Oliver. The trophy was given in the form of a special edition guitar signed by Brian May, due to Devilfish’s love for music.

After raising £93,000 at the Devilfish Cup, today, Managing Director of partypoker Tom Waters, gave a cheque of £46,500 to Jayne Waterhouse, Head of Community Fundraising at Marie Curie.

Tom Waters said: “Rob Yong, owner of Dusk Till Dawn visited Dave during his last few days and asked him how he wanted to be remembered. He asked for us to hold a high stakes poker tournament. It was amazing to see players travel from all over the world to honour such a well-respected person within the poker industry and raise such a fantastic amount of money to a cause that in the end meant a lot to him and all of us at partypoker and Dusk Till Dawn.”

Jayne Waterhouse, Head of Community Fundraising, Marie Curie, said: “We’d like to thank Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club, PartyPoker and all involved in the Devilfish Cup for their incredible donation; we are honoured to have been chosen as the beneficiaries of this very special tournament. Through their support, Marie Curie will be able to provide more free care and support to people living with a terminal illness, and their loved ones.”
