Partypoker revamps Power Series

partypoker revamps Power Series schedule following player feedback. MTTs designed to finish earlier and improve poker ecology. partypoker has implemented a number of changes to its current ‘Power Series’ MTT schedule, as part of its ongoing commitment to listen to player feedback.

The modifications have been designed chiefly to improve the poker ecology and notably to ensure tournaments finish earlier across the popular daily Power Series tournament roster.

From 12 August 2018, all daily Power Series MTTs starting between 12:00 noon and 05:00 BST will now follow a consistent format benefiting from shorter blind levels, reduced late registration periods and decreased re-entries – while maintaining favorable average big blind stack sizes in the latter stages of tournaments.

Re-entries have been removed entirely from Progressive Knockout (PKO), ‘Bounty Hunter’, ‘Fast’ and ‘Turbo’ tournaments, making these games all freeze outs, while only 1 re-entry will now be permitted in daily ‘Specials’ taking place at 12:00, 14:00, 16:00, 18:00 and 00:00 BST.

Partypoker’s ‘smooth’ blind structure (where the blind level never increases more than 10% per round) also ensures a more optimized playing experience across all Power Series games. Since these changes, The partypoker Sunday line-up of Power Series tournaments saw run times reduced by over 20%, or around two hours on average.

Partypoker Poker Room Manager, Chris Donnachie, said: “These changes underscore our commitment to act upon our players’ feedback.

Reduced late registration and a decrease in re-entries will allow Power Series tournaments to finish earlier, while maintaining favorable stack sizes throughout all stages of the tournaments thanks to our smooth blind structure.”

Team Partypoker’s Patrick Leonard added: “I think in general poker tournaments have received a raft of negative changes over the past 5 years.

You see so many tournaments offering 2-3 re buys and 3-4 hours of late reg., meaning they tend to go on for so long. The fact partypoker is addressing these concerns shows their dedication to their players and is a positive step for the industry.” Read more about Power Series tournaments here.
