Former Absolute Poker COO Now running AMaya Gaming

Monday April 29, 2013 : FORMER ABSOLUTE POKER EXEC JOINS AMAYA GAMING

Paul Leggett now runs the online business at internet gambling group

Paul Leggett, former chief operating officer at Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet and a man well known in the industry following the scandals, trials and tribulations of parent company Tokwiro Enterprises and successor Blanca Games, has a new job as the man running Amaya Gaming's online operations, which include Ongame poker network, Chartwell Technology, Cryptologic and Cadillac Jack.

Leggett's former employers, crippled by the enforcement actions in the US on Black Friday have been silent for several months, but are reportedly destined for liquidation.

Last year the Kahnawake Gaming Commission issued a statement on the status of licensee Tokwiro -Blanca Games, noting that a post-Black Friday settlement with the US Justice Department would necessitate the forfeiture of all Blanca assets, and that the US Marshal's office would be responsible for liquidating those assets.

"However, there will be no distribution of the net proceeds from the liquidation pending the resolution of claims filed by other parties who have asserted an ownership interest in Blanca's assets," the regulator cautioned.

Reports circulating on internet message boards and media Monday indicate that Leggett is taking over the duties of Ongame managing director Peter Bertilsson, who will nevertheless continue to consult for the company. It is understood that he will be based in Malta.
