New proposal For Pennsylvania Online Gambling

Thursday November 14 ,2013 : PENNSYLVANIA ONLINE GAMBLING STILL ON THE CARDS?

New proposal currently circulating in Harrisburg.

Earlier this year several online gambling legalization initiatives in Pennsylvania – notably one from Representative Tina Davis – were stifled at committee level, but there is still hope that a measure will pass in the new year

Quoting unidentified sources "close to the process", OPR claims that the draft of a new bill to regulate online gambling is currently circulating in Harrisburg, and has a better chance of approval in 2014.

Among the differences with the Davis bill is a more sensible taxation regime.

The content of the bill is still the subject of negotiation, and apparently the introduction will come from the Republicans in the state Senate.

Possible opposition could come from Las Vegas Sands owner and vehement anti-online gambling opponent Sheldon Adelson, and Pennsylvanian lawmakers could be influenced by the introduction of internet gambling in neighbouring New Jersey towards the end of November, which will be closely monitored.
