Pennsylvania Online Gambling Bill on Hold

Inclusion of amendments stalls House floor vote.
 
House Bill 649 in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives remained at second consideration stage and was not voted on Wednesday when it was bogged down with four new amendments which were accepted after some debate.
 
The bill deals with a possible expansion of online gambling in the state, including the licensing and regulation of online gambling  The next available opportunity for the bill to go to a vote in the House is Saturday, and there are no guarantees that it will receive attention even then if more opposition is encountered. Once voted through the House, the bill will still have to survive the state Senate and the state governor's approval.
 
Wednesday's amendments dealt with the installation of video gaming terminals at clubs and taverns, and offering games via multi-purpose computer devices at airports
