International poker ace Phil Ivey plans to get into social gaming poker

Top live and online poker ace Phil Ivey appears to have ambitions in the poker coaching field, evidenced by a recently launched website that is at present seemingly putting together a mailing list / customer base through an otherwise largely inactive site.

Iveypoker.com invites visitors to subscribe, but bigger things are clearly in prospect with reports that Ivey is signing up a star-studded team of poker pros that includes current World Series of Poker final table chip leader Greg Merson, Patrik Antonius and Jenn Harmon.

ESPN reports that Ivey plans to improve players' skills through the free-to-play internet site and instructional vids, and that he told the TV company he wants to give players an opportunity to improve and compete against some of the best names in the game

“What we’re doing here is teaching people how to become a winning poker player," Ivey told ESPN. "I think a lot of people really don’t know how to play poker, and I think this is going to be an opportunity to play with the best players in the world.”
