announces UK’s first Mixed Max tournament

Saturday February 1,2014 :  ONLINE POKER ROOM RINGS THE CHANGES IN ITS LATEST TOURNEY announces UK's first Mixed Max tournament
The UK-based 3D online poker room plans to ring the changes in its ninth tournament in the biannual PKR Live series, announcing that the new $500 buy-in PKR Live Mixed Max will take place at Aspers Stratford Supercasino from 28-30 March.
A company spokesman said the NLHE move was inspired by a format popular at the World Series of Poker and begins with 9-seat tables on Day 1, transitioning to 6-seat tables on Day 2.
When 16 players remain, the event concludes on Day 3 with a heads-up shootout. Matches will be seeded by stack size, with the chip leader facing the shortest stack, the second largest stack versus the second shortest stack and so on.
Participants can register direct through PKR's software for $500 or win their $500 seat, or $800 package (which includes $300 towards travel & accommodation), through satellites starting from $0.60.
PKR's head of PR Dan Grant said, "Mixed Max is a real test of versatility and one we hope both our own players and the UK poker circuit will embrace. There are so many live tournaments on offer in the UK and Europe so it's important to be distinct. With the combination of social atmosphere, affordable buy-in and pioneering format, I think we've managed it!"
