Player List For Big One For One Drop

Sunday July 1, 2012 : FINAL PLAYER LIST FOR BIG ONE FOR ONE DROP ANNOUNCED (Update)

Harrahs unveils registration list

With the action due to start today (Sunday July 1st) in the million dollar buy-in Big One for One Drop tournament, organisers Harrah's Entertainment released the final sign-up list of players Saturday.

The list confirms that all 48 seats in the tournament will be filled by 19 amateurs and 27 professional players, with two satellite seat entrants permitted.

The first prize will be a massive $18,346,673, the biggest single prize in poker history.  11.1 percent, or $5.53 million, will go to third world charity programs.

Other pay-outs will be:

2nd: $10,112,001
3rd: $4,352,000
4th: $2,645,333
5th: $1,834,666
6th: $1,621,333
7th: $1,408,000
8th: $1,237,333
9th: $1,109,333

The list shows that the wild speculation, and not a little Twitter boasting by some top poker players in recent weeks was just hot air – they do not appear on the list.

Late breaking news Saturday was that high profile poker professional and twelve-time WSOP bracelet winner, Phil Hellmuth, had been included in the list.

The rumour mill appeared confused, suggesting that Hellmuth had either won or bought seat 48, a satellite seat put up by MGM Resorts International.

Reports last week were that Hellmuth was wheeling and dealing to get big wallets to invest in him for the competition.
