Poker Ace Closes

Thursday June 6,2013 :  POKERACE OPERATOR FOLDS

Midweek departure for online poker room

After a mere ten months in operation, the online poker room Poker Ace has announced that it is to shut down tomorrow with players, their account balances and loyalty rewards transferred to iPoker network skin DafaPoker.

Based and licensed in the Philippines and targeted on Asian players, Poker Ace launched late 2012 using proprietary software. It was supported by big poker names like former WSOP champ Joe Hachem, JC Tran and Nam Le  and appeared to be a substantially funded enterprise.

A Poker Ace announcement this week advises that the operator has "…decided to focus on a different business model for our online poker offering,” and will be "…migrating to a new product in the coming months.”

The operator gave a hint at future possibly social gaming plans in a subsequent communication, advising: "Working with a new software provider we have decided to reposition the business model for PokerAce. This will mean we will no longer offer real money gaming.”

The independent online poker site monitor Pokerscout reports that the site generated little if any traffic.
