Cereus Poker Network now down 82 percent

The independent online poker monitor Pokerscout's latest assessments show that the Black Friday indictments have continued to have a devastating effect on the major internet poker firms associated with the US federal action.

According to the monitor, online poker traffic dropped 4 percent last week, with Merge Gaming Network garnering another 1 percent of the traffic, taking its growth up to 155 percent for the year.

The Cereus Network, which comprises Absolute Poker and UB Poker, has suffered a destructive decline in traffic of 82 percent this year, due to its principals being named in the federal indictments and a cessation of US activity. Last week alone the sites saw a drop of 29 percent in traffic.

The other companies impacted by the DoJ action, Pokerstars and Full Tilt Poker have seen traffic decline by 28 percent and 24 percent respectively this year.
