Poker Rebel Launches

Saturday November 3, 2012 : POKER REBEL.COM LAUNCHES

But remains reticent on software

The people behind the Costa Rica-based online poker enterprise Poker Rebel started promoting the site on message boards and social media platforms back in September this year, with a noticeable reticence concerning the software in use and its licensing jurisdiction.

This week the Che Guevara-themed site launched for real money action in English and Portuguese (Brazilian) language versions…but again without identifying its software.

The site welcomes US action, but some early players posting on the twoplustwo message were less than complimentary about the software, prompting an anonymous company representative to respond: "We'll launch a completely new interface soon."

The company also issued a media statement hyping the launch but commenting: "With a mind blowing interface coming up really soon, mobile poker and great new features, Rebel is developing heavily in order to reach our goal, which is to become one of the best networks in the industry."

All of which begs the question: "You just launched on November 1 – if you have a new and better interface, why wouldn't you just start out with it instead of the current one?"

According to the marketing blurb, Poker Rebel offers Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, 7 Card Stud and 5 Card Stud in both tournament and cash formats. Hold'em is available in Fixed Limit, Pot Limit and No Limit versions.
