ASIAN-TARGETED ONLINE POKER SITE LAUNCHED

Sunday August 26,2012 : NEW ASIAN-TARGETED ONLINE POKER SITE LAUNCHED

Poker Ace has some big names on the team

A new online poker site focused on the Asia-Pacific market and offering proprietary no-download software has launched under a First Cagayan licence in the Philippines.

Poker Ace.com comes in English and Chinese language versions and offers No Limit Texas Holdem, Pot Limit Texas Holdem, and Fixed Limit Texas Holdem as well as 13 Cards or Chinese Poker with more games coming soon.

Players can indulge in ring games, Sit and Go tournaments, and multi-table tournaments, with a four-table capability currently on the latter.

The ownership of the site is not yet clear, but the website notes that:

"PokerAce is an online poker network supported by some of Asia’s largest and most reputable gaming operators, including Dafabet, IBC Bet and Sun Game. We aim to connect sportsbook and casino customers together with poker, mahjong and Asian card game players from across the Asia region."

The company has engaged the services of former WSOP champ Joe Hachem for its pro team, along with Nam Le and JC Tran.

Hachem commented this week: "Asia is a rapidly growing market and a poker room dedicated to this region is long overdue. JC, Nam and I have had input into the development of the platform and we aim to become the preferred destination for poker players in the Asia region over the next months.”

The site offers three distinct rake structures depending on tables selected, most commonly a 5 percent rake maxed at $3, but with higher rates on other tables that appear to be designed to discourage "sharks".

The site offers full 24/7 player services, and representatives have been active on poker message boards.

The operator appears to be playing it safe – US players are excluded, along with players from most countries where specific online gambling regulatory regimes are in place.

New sign-ups can play on free games to get the feel of the place if desired.
