Pokerstars 100 Billionth Hand Coming Soon

Excitement building as players pile in on "milestone" promos
 
Online poker's biggest operator, Pokerstars is now on final approach for the achievement of 100 billion hands dealt  with players reportedly piling in as a series of milestone promos kicks in as the landmark hand nears….the consensus appears to be that the 100 billionth hand will be reached by Friday this week.
 
Last Saturday saw the first milestone – hand 99,700,000 – achieved, with hundreds of other promos at million hand staging points planned on the run-up to the magic 100 billion. The company has set aside millions of dollars for cash prizes in these preliminary stages, other promotions and the big hand itself.
 
In return, and based on past events, Pokerstars can confidently expect a massive influx of player traffic – perhaps as much as a 30 percent boost on the final run-up. According to the independent online poker monitor Pokerscout, that could be a modest expectation – traffic this week is already up 50 percent.
 
Pokerscout also reports that Pokerstars sister-site Full Tilt Poker has seen traffic decline to the point where its second-place lead over Playtech's iPoker network has been trimmed to a mere 10 percent.
 
The monitor also advises that Nevada's first legal online poker site, Ultimate Poker.com, has not risen to the heights anticipated with thousands of poker fans in Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker. Despite a week of action at WSOP, traffic at Ultimate Poker remained flat, although there are still several weeks to go in poker's biggest event.
