Fabian Quoss wins Pokerstars Macau high roller

German poker pro Fabian Quoss is the Pokerstars Macau high roller king after besting 82 other players in the 2014 Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) High Roller event.
 
Opposing Quoss on the internationally talented final table following elimination of luminaries like Phil Ivey, Sam Trickett, and Sorel Mizzi, were Yiang Lu (chip leader), Rono Lo, Aaron Lim, Davidi Kitai, Ivan Shoshnikov, Anatoly Filatov, Zhapar Sultanov, Phanlart Sukonthachartnant and Isaac Haxton.
 
The survivors embarked on what proved to be a 17 hour marathon of a contest which took 13 hours to reach the three-handed stage.
 
The departure of Rono Lo for HK$2,342,600 (US$295,000) saw Yiang Lu and Quoss pitched against one another in the heads up, with Lu holding a small advantage which his German opponent ground down to eventually win despite every effort by a spirited and skillful opponent.
 
Quoss took home an impressive US$670,000 (HK$5,271,000) for the win, with Lu's consolation second placing around HK$3,514,000 (US$450,000).
 
The win – Quoss's third major reward this year – takes the German pro's career earnings almost $6.5 million.
 
He took down the $100,000 Super High Roller at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure for $1.6 million, and finished fifth for A$716,000 in the A$250,000 Challenge at the Aussie Millions.
