One billionth hand tournament pays out handsomely.
 
The world's biggest online poker provider has achieved yet another massive milestone, celebrating its one billionth hand this week by hosting a major $109 buy-in tournament that carried a guaranteed $2 million prize pool and attracted 34,081 players, building a pool more than a third larger than the guarantee at just over $3.4 million.
 
Adding a little sugar to the action, the poker provider also lashed out over $200,000 in randomly awarded extra prizes over the first two-and-a-half hours of the event.
 
Just over 15 hours from the start, a Uruguayan player with the handle "kofi89" was declared the winner, taking home $329,586. His very worthy German opponent in the heads up, "kaveh001", took home $241,566, with the six figure pay-outs extending right down to the fourth finisher.
