No Plans For Pokerstars Online Casino

Friday March 14,2014 :   POKERSTARS AND CASINO ACTION: NEVER SAY NEVER

Full Tilt Poker's excursion into wider online gambling will not necessarily be copied by stablemate Pokerstars.

Since Full Tilt Poker widened the scope of its offering by including online casino action, there has been speculation that stable mate in The Rational Group, Pokerstars, would follow suit.  That rumour was scotched this week by the head of cash games and tournaments at Pokerstars, Steve Day.

Answering questions on the Poker Strategy and 2+2 forums on a variety of issues involving his company, Day said that there were no plans for Pokerstars to follow the lead of its sister site in introducing online casino action, at least not in the foreseeable future.

“There are no plans at this time for casino games in the PokerStars client,” Day wrote. But he very wisely added the caveat: “I suppose you can never say never, but right now ‘We are Poker’ and nothing else.”

Full Tilt Poker's real-money roulette and blackjack offer was launched in January this year, and is soon to be augmented by slots from Leander Games.

Parent The Rational Group has also confirmed that it is investigating opportunities in online and mobile sports betting
