Pokerstars has publicised a new responsible gambling code

Monday December 08,2014 : POKERSTARS BOOSTS RESPONSIBLE GAMING MEASURES

Players can call the shots on new casino and sports betting offers..

In support of its decision to augment online poker services with a player option to use sports betting facilities and/or casino games  Pokerstars has publicised a new responsible gambling code to cater for the additional product offerings.

The company's responsible gaming manager, Jeanne David, announced the new code in a blog statement noting:

"PokerStars has a long and proud history of integrating responsible gaming features into its software. The casino and sports betting offerings will be no different."

Three central changes cover the new casino game and sports betting services:

* Players can opt out of all casino and sportsbook marketing through the Pokerstars' client, and they can unsubscribe specifically from marketing and promotional emails.

* Players who object to the introduction of sports betting and casino products can edit their account profiles so as to make the sports betting and casino pages invisible to them.

* Casino game and sports betting players can set individual stakes and limits.

David wrote that players who are purists and want Pokerstars to be "all poker, all the time" can use the new facilities to ensure that this is exactly what they are able to bring about.

Conversely, if players want to use the casino games or sports betting services now available, they too can customise their Pokerstars experience to do just that.

InfoPowa readers will recall that the addition of casino games and sports betting services triggered the amicable resignation of Pokerstars poker pro Victoria Coren-Mitchell last week, and has since become the subject of discussion among players, some of whom draw a distinction between poker and other forms of online gambling.
